COMMUNICATIONS
By paying attention to analytics and
listening to member feedback, the
communications team successfully
increased open rates for ACA Daily by
about 5 percent each day. The team,
including Alex Szeto, public affairs
specialist, also launched ACA Cast,
a podcast designed to provide ACA
members, policymakers and other
stakeholders with industry information
and analysis.

MEETINGS AND EVENTS

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
ACA's IT staff, led by Ted Smith, vice
president of operations, has made
significant improvements and updates
to enhance visitors' experience when
searching the website for various types
of information, including topics related
to products, events, ACA SearchPoint™
documents and more.

COLLECTORS INSURANCE
AGENCY (CIA)
Despite the insurance market's movement
toward increasing prices while reducing
coverage, ACA's E&O Program entered
its third consecutive year without a rate
increase. That, coupled with a significant

increase in TCPA coverage, enabled
Collectors Insurance Agency to help members
who were in need of an alternative. CIA
achieved great success under the leadership,
guidance and outstanding management skills
of the late Janis St. Martin, who served as the
agency's vice president.
ACA's Accomplishments Report is
produced annually and updated throughout
the year. If you're headed to ACA's Annual
Convention & Expo in San Diego this
month, there will be a limited number
of printed copies of the report available
at ACA Central in the Expo Hall. For an

Following the return of Mary Thao, ACA's
celebrated director of meetings and events,
ACA surpassed its expectations in 2018
by holding six well-received conferences
attracting 1,834 attendees, a more than 10%
increase from the previous year.

EDUCATION
Under the guidance of industry veteran
Harry Strausser III, last year the association
added two new highly esteemed leadership
designations: the Professional Collection
Management (PCM) and Collection
Industry Professional (CIP). Additionally,
ACA launched the Credit and Collections
Compliance Attorney (CCCA) designation,
designed to provide attorneys with a
firm understanding of various consumer
financial protection laws.

MEMBERSHIP
In June 2018, ACA renamed its Customer
Care Center as Member Services.
This is more than just a semantics
change-it represents ACA's renewed
focus on making members the center
of everything it does. And as noted
previously, association leader Tammy
Schoenberg returned to ACA last year to
serve as director, member and association
services. Schoenberg reports to Jessica
Hartmann, ACA's vice president of
member experience.
