Participates in Publix
hile collection agencies are not
generally cast in the best light
by the general public, a Tampa,
Fla., agency is a reminder that they not only
recover money for hospitals, physicians and
other health care and government entities,
but they also give back to the community.
Several employees and family members
of Preferred Collection and Management
Services, an ACA International member
company, participated in what has become
a Tampa racing tradition: the Publix
Gasparilla Distance Classic 15K and 5K.
Through efforts from the Gasparilla Distance
Classic Association, volunteers, participants and
many others associated with the event, more
than $5.1 million was raised to support Tampa
Bay Area youth charitable organizations.
The bulk of that money went to the
association's "heritage charities," including
the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, Big
Brothers & Big Sisters of Tampa Bay and the
Friends of Tampa Recreation. Money is also
shared with South Tampa Neighborhood
Associations, the Cigna Kids Running
Program, Publix's Too Good For Drugs Jr.
Gasparilla Classic, the University of Tampa's
Cross-Country & Track Programs and several
nonprofits providing volunteers for the event.
More than 32,000 runners and walkers
from all walks of life participated in the races,
representing all 50 states and 10 countries.

SCB America recently completed a merger and acquisition of RevSolve Inc. and J&L
Teamworks, two health-care-related industry leaders.
RevSolve, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based company founded in 1964, was once known
as Collection Service Bureau Inc., led by Chris Becraft. The ACA member company was
rebranded as RevSolve, a firm that prides itself on being "the best-in-class revenue solution for
healthcare providers," according to a statement released by USCB America.
J&L Teamworks, also an ACA member company, was established in 1990 in Lodi, Calif., as
a receivables management services firm that works with hospitals, medical groups, clinics and
physicians. The company, which was previously privately owned and managed by two business
partners, is now part of USCB's family of employee-owned companies.
"In today's fast-paced and competitive environment, it becomes critical to look for avenues
to retain tenured and successful employees and to broaden the services offered to our business
partners," Albert Cadena, USCB America's CEO and president, said in the news release.
RevSolve and J&L Teamworks join a host of proud employee owners at USCB America,
who offer a full enterprise of healthcare revenue cycle and management solutions, according
to the news release. USCB America has been in business for over 100 years and has been an
employee-owned company for almost two decades.
