sn't it amazing how one piece of legislation or one compliance issue can change the way we
do business in the credit and collection industry? At ACA International, we make it our
business to ensure that you-as a member-have access to the most up-to-date tools and
resources related to regulatory, legal and compliance issues that impact our industry.
ACA membership not only helps you remain current on laws and regulations, but it also affords
you educational, networking and strategic business opportunities necessary to grow your career and
company. As the end of the year approaches, I encourage you to renew your ACA membership to
avoid a lapse in your ability to access our valuable resources (see page 39 for renewal instructions).
By renewing your membership today, you will remain part of an association that is the voice
of the industry and shares its message of value with business leaders, consumer advocates
and policymakers. ACA works on behalf of companies engaged in third-party consumer debt
collection, billing and outsourced first-party debt collection, asset buying, judgment recovery,
litigation, and collection or creditor defense, as well as credit professionals and vendor affiliates.
Our diversified membership collaborates to provide ACA with the strength it needs to
effectively advocate for federal legislative and regulatory initiatives in Washington, D.C. ACA's
staff also works tirelessly with affiliated state units to track and offer guidance on hundreds of bills
in state legislatures that have the potential to impact your business.
In other areas we invest our efforts into creating training programs and course work aimed at
developing a knowledgeable credit and collection workforce. You and your staff can expand your
careers by earning professional designations to ensure your firm has what it takes to collect efficiently
and effectively, while remaining in compliance with state and federal laws.
Other educational workshops and networking opportunities are available at our must-attend
Annual Convention & Expo and our fall and spring forums and expos. These events draw
hundreds of professionals like you who are working to help recover billions of dollars in debt,
resulting in greater credit availability.
As a member, we hope you will continue to take advantage of the multiple training formats ACA
offers, including online seminars, teleseminars, face-to-face seminars and CD-ROMs. Whether
you're interested in sales, management, healthcare collections or asset buying, ACA has the
resources you need. Among our most popular members-only resources are ACA SearchPoint™, a
comprehensive list of compliance documents, and The Hub, an online discussion community.
We have a powerful community of members committed to engaging in ethical business practices
while taking the expectations of creditor clients and the public seriously. ACA strives to continue
building appreciation and respect for the industry and its valuable contributions to the economy.
Thanks for your support along with your continued commitment to strengthening
your business and ACA International. Renew your membership today for 2018 at www.
acainternational.org/renew or pay from your member renewal invoice mailed Nov. 1.
